THE WORLD IS STILL INTACT HERE

You don’t go through Zermatt, you go to Zermatt. There is no through traffic here. The village in Wallis lies at the end of a valley with Switzerland's trademark mountain right outside the door. The 4'478m Matterhorn is the most photographed mountain in the world. Ever since its first ascent in 1865 it's neibouring village has continued to grow in popularity. But it is not just the mountaineers who love Zermatt, also skiers, hikers and nature enthousiasts come to visit.

Zermatt is an original health retreat with 300 days of sun every year. The air is clean and clear — because no motor vehicles are allowed to drive through the village. Instead there are electric taxis, horse-drawn carriages, sleds and bicycles. But actually everything is easily reached on foot: for example the famous Bahnhofstrasse, the Matterhorn Museum and the first class restaurants.

Zermatt is quiet, yet lively. It is traditional and international. The same applies also the FIREFLY, which is located right in the middle of this paradise.
